Business Challenge- Many of Fortigo’s clients are large freight and logistics enterprises such as Eagle Freight that help large companies with asset recovery. During the asset recovery process, often times, the pickup staff does not have access to the internet or even a computer to acquire updated pickup lists or upload picked-up orders data.
How PROACE Helped- PROACE helped Fortigo by developing a full-fledged handheld device application targeting the Pocket PC operating system. The application allows workers to acquire new orders from the central office as well as upload completed orders on the go. Utilized XML Webservice technology to retrieve pickup orders from Java/Oracle based data warehouse. Implemented multi-threading GUI to provide auto upload feature as soon as the handheld device is connected to the internet.
