ProAce is a boutique software development and consulting company located in the heart of downtown Austin. We build software applications and implement software strategies for companies looking to leverage technology to stay ahead of the curve. Our primary client projects are Custom Web Applications and Management Information Systems.
We have an immediate need for ASP.NET web developers that love to take ownership of their projects. Our relatively small engineering team provides ample opportunity for learning and advancement along with decades of development experience across a wide array of technologies. Candidates should have strong interpersonal and leadership skills to interface with clients, potentially lead teams and work in an agile environment. Regardless of experience, we require a genuine passion for the craft.
Required Experience/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or related)
- 2 to 4 years experience as a Software Engineer using the .NET Framework
- 1 to 2 years experience doing development for the web using ASP.NET WebForms
- Solid understanding of Web technologies specifically: HTML, CSS, JavaScript and associated libraries (e.g. jQuery), and HTTP
- Design and coding skills in Visual Studio 2008/2010, SQL Server 2005/2008
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Must have work permit to work for any employer (Citizens or Permanent Residents only)
- A strong commitment and passion for continuous learning
Bonus Points:
- Understanding of tools and techniques for testing (xUnit, mocking frameworks)
- Exposure to MVC web frameworks such as ASP.NET MVC, ORM frameworks such as NHibernate or Entity Framework, and IOC containers such as Castle Windsor or StructureMap
- Familiarity with design patterns and best practices (SOLID principles, GRASP patterns, etc.)
- Experience with non-Microsoft platforms such as Java, Ruby/RoR, Python/Django, Objective C/Cocoa
- A track record of side projects, contributions to open source projects, and/or community participation through blogs, conferences, Twitter, etc.
