Pedram co-founded ProAce and has been leading the strategic direction and development of the team since ProAce’s inception in 2004. As the CEO, Pedram is actively involved in the day to day management and operations of the company. He works closely with clients and the development team to ensure the quality and success of each engagement. In addition to executive consulting for established clients, Pedram sits on the board of three startups here in Austin.
Pedram’s primary strength is in his ability to bridge business requirements and technology. He has had extensive experience in the entire development life cycle – from business planning to post launch maintenance and marketing. Pedram is a result oriented pragmatic who enjoys the creative process of risk assessment, resource/capital allocation and problem solving. He doesn’t see much merit in technology for the sake of technology; instead he is interested in how technology can be applied to achieve its intended business objective.
Pedram has worked and successfully led tracks in technology and software development projects in retail, public sector, business services, financial services, education, health care and telecom. He has been able to successfully apply his industry and technical expertise in helping a wide range of clients – from startups to fortune 100 companies. Pedram is a graduate of the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. His studies were focused around Computer Science and Management Information Systems.
Pedram’s interest in technology and software development is rooted in his passion for information proliferation. Pedram has a deep sense of appreciation for how technology is promoting seamless accessibility to information, unrestricted collaboration, and free markets throughout the world. With each engagement, he hopes to apply technology to empower businesses, expand markets, enhance collaboration and extract analytics that help clients run their enterprise more efficiently. Robert leads the new media practice areas at ProAce in the ever changing world of e-commerce, social media, and online marketing. As the Principal Consultant, Robert is a key member of senior management team, responsible for day-to-day operations and client relations. He works closely with clients in managing projects and consulting on strategic and tactical methods for generating revenue.
Robert’s strong suit is turning strategic thinking into big ideas. He is skilled at managing complex, multi-touch, multifaceted projects, products and campaigns for business-to-business and business-to-consumer clients.
With more than two decades of experience in product development and marketing, including 21 years of senior-level design and management, Robert’s work has garnered awards, praise, and most importantly, results for clients such as Canon, CDW, Dell, Logitech, Luminex and Sony. In addition to developing global strategic marketing and communication plans, Robert has extensive experience working with U.S., German, Japanese, and Mexican businesses in international sales and marketing.
Robert has worked both client-side and agency-side and understands the challenges facing clients who need results, accountability and return on investment. Having both worked for national agencies and building and selling his own advertising agency, he knows the marketing industry first hand. He has been able to successfully apply his industry and marketing expertise in helping a wide range of corporate clients.
Robert is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. His studies were focused around advertising and graphic design. A father, artist and an adventurer, Robert balances his enthusiasm for flying, hunting, travel and ranching with painting, photography, Brownie events, PTA meetings and family events.
Victoria has had over 17 years of experience in the high tech industry including senior positions at Dell, ReplayTV and Macromedia. Over the years her roles have spanned from Web development and information architecture to creative direction and online marketing, including corporate ID, product and brand development. In her role as the Principal Consultant, Victoria plays a key role in overseeing client relations and strategic partnerships.
Through her extensive project management experience and research on best practices, Victoria’s expertise is focused around team collaboration, project roadmap development, budget analysis, technology/business strategy and user interface modeling of the application. Victoria enjoys developing and managing client relationships and internal teams from the initial phases of the project through the final delivery of the application, ensuring a smooth development cycle from start to finish.
Victoria’s past experiences include her lead role in the cross-departmental development of online demand generation activities for Dell’s Alienware product line. At ReplayTV, she launched the brand identity for the first personal television company and established a new product category in the consumer electronics industry. While at Macromedia, Victoria led the Web team in creation, launch and continuing development of the award-winning Macromedia.com, Macromall.com and Shockzone.com sites. She developed Macromedia.com as one of the most visited sites on the Internet and generated over $1.5 million in revenue from advertising and sponsorships in less than one year. She launched Macromall in 1996, the first fully automated e-commerce storefront for Macromedia software. Ms. Dawson also developed and designed multimedia projects including the award-winning Macromedia Showcase CDROM, a cross-platform marketing tool authored in Macromedia Director.
When she is not in front of a computer, Victoria enjoys modern architecture, scuba diving, contemporary art, traveling, quests for the best dim sum restaurants and speaking foreign languages with her family and friends.
In his role as the Sr. Systems Architect, Asad facilitates the collaboration between the engineering team, the creative team and the business analysts. With his background in software engineering and his extensive experience with every aspect of the development life cycle, Asad helps ensure the success of each development project.
Asad believes in practical engineering and management practices that empower individual team members to take ownership, become specialized and thereby increase workflow efficiency. Paired with practices like team based WBS estimation techniques and an iterative development model, he has helped ProAce boost client satisfaction and project success rates. Asad relies on proven software development methodologies that help build a team culture centered on quality work and timely delivery.
Asad has considerable experience in the technology start-up arena. He worked as the Engineering Lead at a small SaaS (Software as a Service) provider that offered online solutions to musicians all across America. He worked on the very first custom-built social networking and ticketing platform that served as a privately labeled portal for musicians like Beyonce, Willie Nelson and Robert Earl Keen. As a whole, Asad has had a firsthand experience architecting, implementing and successfully launching turnkey solutions. He has a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science degree from The University of Texas at Austin.
Asad is a big fan of science fiction literature and movies. He loves to learn about new startups and innovation in the technology industry. Having come from Pakistan, Asad appreciates how anyone with a good idea, passion and dedication can go after their dreams by launching a successful business.
As the Sr. User Experience Architect at ProAce, Dustin oversees the user experience and interface design of all projects that come through the door. Dustin works closely with clients during all phases of the development cycle to determine what features are needed for their software and how to best implement them.
With nearly a decade of experience in the interactive and creative industries, Dustin has acquired a wide range of skills that let ProAce turn ideas into successful software products. He applies knowledge in areas such as Web design, usability, development and copywriting to ensure that the software ProAce builds stays cutting-edge and intuitive. Dustin helps clients create engaging user experiences by working closely with the development team to balance both form and function.
Before joining ProAce, Dustin served as Senior Web Producer for Varsity Media Group, where he helped launch an online community of over 200,000 high school teens across the nation. While there, he worked with companies such as L’Oréal Paris, DreamWorks, Sprint and Amazon to produce partnership campaigns and microsites. Dustin graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Journalism and a concentration in multimedia.
Dustin regularly attends South by Southwest Interactive and likes to keep up with all the latest gadget trends. If he’s not online, Dustin might be found hiking around Big Bend National Park or trying out some local BBQ.
As a Systems Architect at ProAce, Joshua is a key member of the software development team and is responsible for guiding the strategic direction and vision of the company as it relates to technology. With a focus on quality, passion and learning, he is also responsible for guiding the team’s development process, their involvement in the greater development community, and overseeing delivery of systems that provide ProAce’s clients with competitive advantage. As a member of the management team, he also helps lead the initiative to better ProAce’s software development process.
Joshua specializes in software architecture and design, information modeling and project management. He is particularly interested in information modeling, building systems that are designed for change and the principle of “zero friction” as it relates to development and business processes. He is also interested in agile and lean development principles.
Prior to joining ProAce, Joshua served as a Software Developer for IBM’s Websphere Application Server with a focus in cryptography. He has experience working for startups, developing high-end healthcare systems and has served in several positions leading learning organizations. He has a proven track record of establishing learning communities and is known for his passion for teaching and discussing technology. He has a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science degree from Neumont University.
Joshua is passionate about his craft, blogs regularly, is active in the .NET and Austin communities, and contributes to various open-source projects. When he is not doing anything development-related, you’ll find him at various coffee shops around Austin, playing his guitar, reading/writing or simply just enjoying Austin.
